NOW HIRING: LIVE-IN FARM CARETAKER
Such & Such Farm (50 minutes south of St. Louis, MO)
Such & Such Farm is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to work as a full-time, live-in Farm Caretaker on our 150-acre working livestock, market garden, and agritourism farm in Jefferson County, Missouri.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone who values meaningful work, country living, and being part of a growing farm operation. This position is best suited for someone looking for a long-term place to live, work, and grow, not temporary housing or a short-term job.
If you have been looking for an opportunity to build a stable, fulfilling life in the country while gaining hands-on experience in farming, livestock, gardening, construction, and equipment, then this is the opportunity for you.

⸻
Important
This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week over the course of the year, although weekly hours may vary depending on projects, seasons, and farm needs. Housing and utilities are considered part of the compensation package in addition to the monthly cash stipend and other benefits.
Much of the work in this position is project based, and the schedule can be fairly flexible to accommodate all the other things going on in people’s lives besides work. We do our best to maintain standard Monday–Friday workday hours, totaling around 40 hours per week. However, farm life can be unpredictable and requires adaptability. The animals and plants require daily attention, regardless of weather or schedule. Also, sometimes disaster strikes, and it’s all hands on deck. There are occasionally early mornings, late nights, weekends, or holidays. Although we do our very best to avoid it.
This position is not a good fit for someone who prefers structured office environments, fixed daily tasks, or highly supervised work. Much of this role requires independence, problem solving, and self-motivation. We’re looking for someone who can be given a project and trusted to manage their time to complete it, and who will ask questions or for help if necessary.

Location
Located near De Soto and Festus, Missouri, approximately 50 minutes south of St. Louis, offering rural living with easy access to two towns and the city.
⸻
A Note on Lifestyle
Because this is a live-in position on a working farm, the caretaker is expected to maintain the home and surrounding area in a clean and respectful manner. Excessive parties, illegal activity, or behavior that negatively affects the farm, neighbors, animals, or events will not be tolerated. This position works best for someone who enjoys a quiet, rural lifestyle.
If you’ve been looking to get out of the city, learn new skills, and build a more hands-on, sustainable country life for yourself or your family, this is a real opportunity to do that.
That said, this is not a vacation lifestyle. It is physical, daily work that requires commitment and follow-through. Farm life is definitely a vibe, but it is real work. If you think it might be right for you, get at us.
